Spencer J. Mizerak Joins Morrison Cohen

Morrison Cohen welcomes Spencer J. Mizerak, who joins the firm in our Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Practice. His practice focuses on a broad range of executive compensation and employee benefits matters, including those that arise in corporate transactions.

Spencer regularly counsels clients in assessing human resources and employee benefit plan liability issues, and the design, implementation and maintenance of cash and equity-based compensation arrangements, including annual and long-term incentive plans and stock and phantom stock incentive programs. He also advises on and assists in the negotiation and implementation of employment, severance, change in control, retention, non-competition, non-solicitation and other compensation-related agreements and arrangements. In addition, he has experience assisting clients in complying with Sections 280G and 409A of the Internal Revenue Code.

Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, Spencer was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in their Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Group. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Rutgers Law School – Newark in 2020. While at Rutgers, he was selected to the Order of the Coif, served as an associate managing editor of the Rutgers University Law Review and received the Justice Henry E. Ackerson Jr. Prize for the greatest distinction in legal skills. He earned a B.S. in Finance and Economics from the University of Delaware.
