Jarrod Bernstein Appointed to Legal Subcommittee of New York Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games Exploratory Committee
Congratulations to Morrison Cohen Policy Director & Counsel Jarrod Bernstein on his appointment to the Legal Subcommittee of the Lake Placid–New York City Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games Exploratory Committee.
Convened by Governor Kathy Hochul, the nearly 90-member committee is evaluating the feasibility of hosting the 2042 Winter Games in New York State, exploring a potential regional Games concept connecting Lake Placid and New York City.
At the committee’s first meeting on October 19, Governor Hochul emphasized the importance of bringing together leaders from across New York, stating: “Today, I’ve assembled a team of the best and the brightest in sports, government, business and community leadership from all corners of the state to ensure we are in the best position possible to build a roadmap to bring the Olympic flame back to New York.”
Jarrod’s appointment reflects his longstanding commitment to public service and community leadership. Beyond his legal practice, he serves on the advisory board of Team Rubicon, an international disaster relief organization, and is a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Civic Education Task Force. He also serves as 1st Assistant Chief and EMT with the Saltaire Volunteer Fire Company. In 2024, he was named to City & State New York’s Responsible 100 list.
The exploratory committee’s work is expected to continue over approximately one year, with findings and recommendations to be provided to state leadership.
