Emily Barsamian Joins Morrison Cohen
Morrison Cohen welcomes Associate Emily Barsamian, who joins the firm in our Labor & Employment Practice. Emily focuses her practice on defending private sector employers in labor and employment matters before administrative agencies and federal and state courts, as well as providing strategic counseling for employers in various industries, including luxury, finance and hospitality.
Emily represents clients in all areas of employment law, including the defense of discrimination, retaliation and reasonable accommodation claims before administrative agencies, in state and federal courts, and in arbitration and mediation. She also conducts internal investigations and prepares strategic responses to pre-litigation demand letters alleging discrimination under federal and state employment laws.
Emily further advises clients on a broad range of employment law matters, including paid sick and family leave, prenatal leave, pay transparency compliance, state agency audits and workforce reductions. She also prepares employee handbooks and state-specific addenda.
Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, Emily was an associate at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. She received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she was executive articles editor of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law, and her B.A., magna cum laude, from New York University.
“Emily brings deep experience across the full spectrum of labor and employment law, from high-stakes litigation to strategic day-to-day counseling,” said Partner Keith Markel, chair of the Labor & Employment Practice. “Her skill set and perspective strengthen our practice, and we are extremely excited to have Emily join the firm.”
