Charles Gehnrich focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, representing clients in disputes in state and federal courts nationwide.

Charles advises and defends companies across a range of industries, including healthcare and technology, in matters involving government investigations, contract disputes and other complex business conflicts. He has experience handling matters arising from False Claims Act investigations, consumer product liability claims, litigation arising from restructuring matters and strategic corporate transactions and commercial agreements, including disputes and pre-litigation counseling related to collaboration and partnership arrangements.

While in law school, Charles served as a judicial intern for Hon. Andrea Masley of the New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division and Hon. Gary S. Katzmann of the U.S. Court of International Trade. Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, he was an associate in the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.

  • A provider of emergency air ambulance services in connection with a False Claims Act investigation.
  • A leading global provider of analytics, technology solutions and clinical research services to the life sciences industry in a proposed merger.
  • A global pharmaceutical company in connection with numerous engagements, including advising on pre-litigation matters pertaining to the company’s drug development collaboration agreements with another life sciences company.
  • A court appointed special master in connection with a multi-billion dollar forced judicial sale of a petroleum company.
  • A global food and beverage company against a variety of product liability and deceptive marketing claims brought by consumers.
  • Litigation arising in restructuring matters, including the restructuring of a large hospital system and a major cryptocurrency company.
  • Pro bono initiatives, including work for the Brennan Center for Justice on voting rights issues.
