Jason Gottlieb Speaks on Future of Digital Asset and Security Token Regulations

October 9, 2019 – Morrison Cohen Partner Jason P. Gottlieb spoke at the Security Token Academy's “Security Token NYC Meetup” on September 26, 2019.  Jason spoke on a panel with other attorneys specializing in securities, securities regulation, corporate and commercial finance, about the future of digital asset and security token regulations.  The Security Token Academy is the leading organization covering and facilitating the evolution of the security token industry.

The Security Token NYC Meetup was featured in the article “Top Security Token Takeaways From NYC” in The Tokenist on October 7, 2019.  The article summarizes the topics covered by the panel, including the SEC's commitment to regulating the blockchain space, the lack of jurisdictional clarity, and the importance of getting strong legal counsel upfront to avoid the cost of dealing with enforcement action. “You want to avoid the approach of move fast, break things, and get a visit from the SEC,” Jason advised entrepreneurs.  “Do your diligence and know where the landmines are.”
