David Saxe Selected by National Law Journal for Trailblazers: Divorce, Trusts and Estates

May 1, 2017 - The Hon. David B. Saxe, (ret.) is profiled in the 2017 issue of the National Law Journal's Trailblazers: Divorce, Trusts and Estates.  Trailblazers profiles people who continue to make their mark in various aspects of legal work in the areas of family law, trusts and estates.

On March 1, 2017, Justice Saxe joined Morrison Cohen LLP as a partner in the Business Litigation Department, after serving on the bench for 35 years, the last 19 of which have been as an Associate Justice, New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department.

Justice Saxe is providing Alternative Dispute Resolution services. In addition to his significant experience in matrimonial-related disputes, he is involved in all manner of mediations, private arbitrations and negotiations in the areas of complex commercial, insurance and real estate controversies.

Justice Saxe just authored the article “Making Prenuptial Agreements 'Bulletproof,'” that appeared in the New York Law Journal on April 19, 2017.  He notes that if attorneys take certain basic precautions in the drafting of their agreements, they can be made less vulnerable to a litigation challenge. With prenuptial agreements being a mainstay of matrimonial practice today, Justice Saxe offers a list of important considerations to 'bulletproof' such agreements. 

Justice Saxe also joined Morrison Cohen's highly regarded Appellate practice group. His many years as a respected judge and a successful attorney will provide clients with a unique perspective on navigating the litigation and appeals process. He also will lead Morrison Cohen's Strategic Case Review practice, where he will provide an impartial review of case strategy and recommendations from the perspective of an experienced member of the bench.
