Rupsha Basu Joins Morrison Cohen

Morrison Cohen welcomes Associate Rupsha Basu, who joins the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Governance Practice. Rupsha’s practice focuses on complex bankruptcy and financial restructuring matters, including out-of-court, prepackaged and in-court restructurings.

Rupsha has represented debtors, lenders and other stakeholders in significant restructurings across a range of industries. Her experience includes complex Chapter 11 cases, liability management transactions and distressed sales involving substantial debt obligations and sophisticated creditor constituencies.

Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, Rupsha was a Financial Restructuring Associate at Milbank LLP, where she represented clients in complex out-of-court and in-court restructurings, including several high-profile Chapter 11 proceedings. She also served as a summer associate at Milbank and as an extern in the Civil Division of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Rupsha holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was a Pomeroy Scholar and a staff editor of the NYU Journal of Legislation and Public Policy. She received her B.A. from Emory University.
