Morrison Cohen Sponsors Arsht Center’s 20th Anniversary Gala

Morrison Cohen, in a gift underwritten by Y. David Scharf, was among the sponsors of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts’ 20th Anniversary Gala, held on April 11, 2026. The Center’s marquee philanthropic event united more than 300 community leaders and raised more than $2 million in support of the Center’s mission-driven education and community engagement programs, which serve more than 100,000 annually.

This year’s Gala, “Paint the Arsht Red,” featured Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Gregory Porter and a surprise appearance by Broadway star Wesley Wray, a Miami native and alumnus of the Arsht’s AileyCamp Miami, who performed selections from Buena Vista Social Club – The Musical, in which he is currently starring on Broadway.

David, who serves as Secretary of the Arsht Center’s Trust Board, said, “We believe strongly in the impactful arts education opportunities that the Arsht Center provides. Sharing the arts with young people means contributing to their intellectual and emotional development and investing in healthier and smarter future generations.”
