Morrison Cohen Featured in ALM Regarding Growth of Mid-Market Firms
Morrison Cohen was featured in a recent ALM article that discussed how, despite economic pressures, midsize firms like Morrison Cohen have continued to grow, according to the latest Law.com Pro Mid-Market 50 report.
The article pointed the success of Morrison Cohen, which Co-Managing Partner Steven Cooperman attributed to a moderated hiring strategy and a full-service model. Steve said that the firm’s hiring focus is on one-off or two-off “opportunistic lateral partner hires,” rather than larger groups. “We have a very good record on associate attrition … and our model is to cultivate that talent and ultimately make them partners. That’s where our focus is for growing the ranks.”
Like a lot of other midsize law firms, Steve said that Morrison Cohen has the benefit of being full-service, which allows them to weather changes in the business and legal world. Although transactional activity slowed down in the second half of 2022, other areas such as litigation, digital assets and restructuring continue to be busy, he said.
