Morrison Cohen Client Smith + Howard Receives Significant Investment from TPG
Congratulations to Morrison Cohen client Smith + Howard, one of the largest national assurance, tax, advisory and wealth management firms in the United States, on receiving its latest round of financing from global alternative asset management firm TPG.
The transaction, expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, marks the next phase of Smith + Howard's growth strategy and underscores the continued momentum of private equity investment in the accounting and professional services sectors. Smith + Howard will continue to operate under its existing brand and leadership team.
Morrison Cohen also represented Broad Sky Partners in its November 2022 investment in Smith + Howard, which has built a diversified platform through organic growth, strategic acquisitions and investments in technology, operations and talent. Today, Smith + Howard has approximately 800 professionals across seven states, with a reported revenue of $74.2 million.
The partnership with TPG is also expected to accelerate Smith + Howard’s integration of artificial intelligence and other technologies to improve workflows, enhance client experience and create additional capacity for future growth.
