Cesar Rodriguez focuses his practice on matters pertaining to intellectual property, regulated markets, international trade and investments, and corporate law. He offers comprehensive legal services to clients – often startups – involved in technology and innovation that promote the economic development of emerging countries.
Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, Cesar was a corporate associate at Seibel Dargam Henriquez & Herrera in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he counseled clients on entity formation and related corporate governance matters, negotiated and drafted corporate partnerships, financing, and commercial agreements, and advised in mergers and acquisitions.
At SDH&H, Cesar’s clients included a buyer in the acquisition of the largest website in the Dominican Republic, several Major League Baseball teams in all aspects of their academy operations in the Dominican Republic, such as employment, corporate partnerships, and infrastructure development, and a representative of a major payment processing company in its implementation of a peer-to-peer payments fintech app.
Prior to practicing corporate law, Cesar was a litigation associate at SDH&H, where he advised and represented over 50 individuals and businesses in all stages of commercial litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
Cesar holds an LLM in Law, Technology & Entrepreneurship from Cornell Law School and Cornell Tech; a Master’s in International Commerce Management from Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (UNA)/ Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo; and a Bachelor of Laws, cum laude, from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
