Kayla West Joins Morrison Cohen

Morrison Cohen welcomes Associate Kayla West to our Labor & Employment Practice. Kayla represents private sector employers and human resource personnel in all areas of employment law, including the defense of discrimination, retaliation and reasonable accommodation claims, wage and hour matters, drug testing, affirmative action compliance, handbook policies, DEI, family and medical leave, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, severance agreements, individual terminations and reductions in force, and workplace health and safety issues. Kayla also has labor-management relations experience, including grievance administration and the defense of unfair labor practice charges.

Kayla handles employment litigation matters and has represented clients in administrative agency matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and analogous state agencies. Her practice also includes transactional matters, such as potential employment-related successor liability issues, workplace investigations regarding issues arising from employee disputes and complaints, and labor relations.

Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, Kayla was a Labor & Employment associate at Robinson & Cole LLP in Hartford, CT. She holds a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was executive editor of the Wake Forest Law Review, and a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University.

“With Kayla’s broad-ranging experience representing employers in labor and employment matters, she will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our practice. We are delighted that she has joined our team,” said Keith Markel, partner and co-chair of the Labor & Employment Law Practice. “Kayla will add much needed depth to the firm’s labor-management relations practice,” added Jeff Englander, also a partner and co-chair of the Firm’s Labor & Employment Law Practice.
