Jessica Lipson Quoted Regarding Uncertainty in Adopting AI in Legal Work
Partner Jessica Lipson was recently quoted in a Thomson Reuters article entitled “Generative AI in Law Firms: For Many, Such Technologies Are Still A Great Unknown.” The article discussed a report from Thomson Reuters Institute, “ChatGPT and Generative AI within Law Firms,” which found that while many law firms are open to adopting generative AI in legal work, a sizeable number of law firm leaders are unsure about what generative AI is or what it can do.
Jessica, who co-chairs Morrison Cohen’s Technology, Data & IP Practice, stated that encouraging adoption of AI may be as much of a knowledge and informational issue as a technological issue. “How are we going to get people comfortable not just with the technology, but with the fact that they are interacting with a machine, and yet it doesn’t feel like you’re interacting with a machine?” she asked.
