Jessica Lipson Discussed Use of Generative AI within Law Firms for Thomson Reuters Report
Partner Jessica Lipson was interviewed by Thomson Reuters as part of its new report, ChatGPT & Generative AI within Law Firms, which took a deep look at the evolving attitudes towards generative AI and ChatGPT within law firms, measuring awareness and adoption of the technology, as well as lawyers’ views on its potential risks. The survey, which informed the report, gathered insight from more than 440 respondent lawyers at large and midsize law firms in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada.
In the report, Jessica said that she is receiving more questions about legal technologies than ever before, largely due to the public interest in generative AI’s development, but that law firms must take care not to disclose any client confidences in the process of using such technology.
Jessica said that Morrison Cohen is exploring use cases, but for now they are interested in the question & answer capabilities of the tool. “I think it would be a good assistant, if you will. Somebody to give you a little bit of guidance, a little bit of initial context.”
