Jason Gottlieb to Participate in New York Arbitration Week Panel
Partner Jason Gottlieb will participate on a panel at New York Arbitration Week on November 14, 2023. The panel, “Arbitration of Fintech Disputes,” is part of the New York City Bar’s “New York Thinking on International Arbitration” series, covering privilege issues in international arbitration and arbitrating cryptocurrency disputes.
Jason’s fellow panelists will include Joshua Ashley Klayman, Senior Counsel, Linklaters LLP; Jane Khodarkovsky, Partner, Arktouros pllc; Rafael Carlos del Rosal Carmona, Director, International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR); and moderator Michael Fernández, Partner, Rivero Mestre LLP.
The panelists will discuss whether the flexibility of arbitration and its emphasis on party autonomy makes it a well-suited mechanism for the resolution of disputes in the crypto sector, some of the types of crypto related disputes that are currently being arbitrated, how national courts have begun to grapple with crypto related arbitration awards, and the novel challenges that have arisen in connection with crypto asset disputes.
The panel will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST at NYC Bar Association, 42 W. 44th Street, NYC.
