Danielle Lesser Quoted in The Business Journals Regarding Stress on U.S. Mall Properties Due to COVID-19 Pandemic
Danielle Lesser, chair of the Business Litigation Department, was quoted in The Business Journals on how the COVID-19 pandemic has led many retail tenant clients to settle and, frequently, restructure deal terms with landlords.
In the article, entitled “Malls Across America Face Uncertain Future as E-Commerce, COVID-19 Pandemic Push Many to the Brink,” Danielle said, “A lot of it has resulted in lease renewals on slightly different terms that are slightly more cognizant and that better address the possibility of a pandemic.” The article also concluded with a quote from Danielle: "It's a fascinating evolution: The fortunes of the retailer and mall owner rise and fall together.”
