Danielle Lesser Appointed Chair and Mahnoor Misbah Becomes Secretary of NYC Bar Judiciary Committee
Congratulations to Danielle Lesser, who was recently appointed chair of the New York City Bar Association Judiciary Committee, and to Mahnoor Misbah, who will become secretary of the Committee, effective March 15, 2023.
In Danielle’s acceptance letter, City Bar President Susan J. Kohlmann wrote, “Committee chairs are chosen with extraordinary care, as it is the chairs who are chiefly responsible for our committees’ success. Your selection is a tribute to you and to the quality of your service to the Association.”
Danielle has long been active in the City Bar Judiciary Committee, most recently serving as vice chair. As chair, Danielle will take the lead in drafting reports, as well as planning events and CLE and development programs, a critical part of the City Bar’s mission.
Danielle selected Fran M. Jacobs of Duane Morris LLP and Tracey Salmon-Smith of Faegre Drinker Biddell & Reath LLP to serve as vice chairs. In addition to Mahnoor, Danielle named Jeannette Rucker, assistant district attorney in Bronx County and chief of professional staff training and development, to serve as secretary. Engie Shahidy will continue her critical role as assistant to the NYC Bar Judiciary Committee.
“I am honored to be chosen as chair of the City Bar Judiciary Committee. I believe strongly in the Committee’s mission, and I’m excited to lend my knowledge and passion to the role of chair,” said Danielle. “I’d like to extend a warm welcome to the newest members of our Committee and profoundly thank outgoing chair Tracee Davis for her leadership. I hope to continue Tracee’s strong work.”
