Alvin is a Partner in the Firm’s Business Litigation Department and its Intellectual Property Group.  He handles a wide variety of business disputes, including trademark, copyright, trade secret and patent litigation, commercial real estate construction litigation (including RPAPL 881 licenses), insurance defense, employment, contract, general partnership and securities fraud disputes.  He also advises clients on construction and architectural contracts and commercial lease disputes, as well as concerning IP portfolio management and non-litigation intellectual property issues.  Alvin is Chairman of the Firm’s Diversity Committee.

Alvin practices primarily in state and federal courts in New York and before various arbitral tribunals.

Alvin joined Morrison Cohen in 2004. He began his legal career as a law clerk and senior law clerk to the Honorable John R. Padova, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia). Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, Alvin was an associate in the Litigation Department of Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP, working primarily in securities and reinsurance. Prior to studying law, Alvin was a publishing editor specializing in the analysis, research, and interpretation of federal statutes and regulations.
