Madison Schaper focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and arbitration, with experience representing clients in the financial services and cryptocurrency industries.
Madison’s experience includes representing a cryptocurrency client in American Arbitration Association arbitration involving breach of contract claims, including preparing expert witnesses, and drafting post-hearing submissions and briefing concerning enforcement costs.
Her practice has also involved defending a financial institution in federal litigation involving fraudulent concealment and representing a bank in multiple federal actions under the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, including turnover proceedings, writs of garnishment and third-party subpoenas. She also advises clients on a range of regulatory compliance matters.
Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, Madison was a litigation associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where she handled complex federal litigation and arbitration matters. She previously served as a summer associate at Cleary Gottlieb. During law school, she served as a clinical student at the Rutgers Housing Justice and Tenant Solidarity Clinic and as a legal intern at the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of NJ.
