Morrison Cohen Named to Vault’s 2020 “15 Best Midsize Law Firms in New York”, Top 20 for Satisfaction in “Midsize Quality of Life Rankings” and “Top 150 Under 150”
July 19, 2019 – Morrison Cohen was named to Vault's 2020 “15 Best Midsize Law Firms in New York.” Vault's ranking highlights the firms doing “BigLaw quality work in the largest legal market in the country, but with a smaller legal team.” For this ranking, Vault asked associates in New York at both large and midsize firms to vote for the top midsize firms in the city, then ranked the firms by the total percentage of votes received.
Morrison Cohen also was ranked in the Top 20 for Associate Satisfaction in Vault's “Midsize Quality Of Life Rankings”. Vault's Midsize Quality of Life Rankings are derived from Vault's Annual Associate Survey in which nearly 20,000 associates rated and commented on various aspects of their work lives. The Midsize Quality of Life Rankings focus on responses from associates at firms with 200 attorneys or fewer. These firms range from nationally renowned boutiques to midsize full-service practices—and represent all regions of the country.
In addition, the firm was named to the “Top 150 Under 150,” Vault's list of leading midsize law firms. Now in its fifth year, Vault created the 150 list to recognize outstanding law firms with fewer attorneys, but no less expertise, than the global megafirms that often otherwise dominate rankings and headlines.
To determine the Top 150 Under 150, Vault developed a list of the best-known and most sought-after U.S. firms with fewer than 150 attorneys. Vault's editorial and research teams studied the Vault survey data, news stories, trade journals and other legal publications; spoke with lawyers in the field and reviewed other published rankings. Vault editors also assessed each firm for prestige, quality of life and professional growth opportunities, and then narrowed down the results to come up with a list of 150 law firms known for providing top-notch service and delivering big results.
