Morrison Cohen Wins Two M&A Advisor Deal of the Year Awards
We are proud to share that two Morrison Cohen deals won Deal of the Year at the 22nd Annual M&A Advisor Awards on November 16, 2023, taking top honors in the categories of Sector Deals and Restructuring Deals of the Year.
Financials Deal of the Year – Sale of York International Agency to IMA, Inc.
Partners Peter Anglum, Tali Newman, Brian Snarr, Michael Weinstein and Henry Zangara represented York International, a Harrison, NY-based independent insurance brokerage firm, in its acquisition by IMA Financial Group, a North American insurance brokerage firm specializing in risk management, insurance, wholesale brokerage and wealth management. York retained its Westchester County office and its employee-owners and clients. The purchase of York added $32 million in brokerage revenue to IMA.
Restructuring Deal of the Year (under $100 million) – Restructuring and Sale of the Williamsburg Hotel
Joseph T. Moldovan and David J. Kozlowski represented Quadrum Development Corp. as bankruptcy counsel in its $96 million purchase of Brooklyn’s Williamsburg Hotel at bankruptcy auction. The trendy 147-key property, located 96 Wythe Avenue, was sold to the London-based hospitality firm after a complicated three-year bankruptcy process.
