Morrison Cohen Represents Fanatics in Connection PointsBet Acquisition
Congratulations to client Fanatics Betting and Gaming for entering into a monumental agreement to acquire the U.S. operations of Australian sports betting company, PointsBet. The publicly-traded PointsBet, the seventh-largest online operator for sports betting, will retain its Canada and Australia business operations.
The $150 million cash deal accelerates the sports betting plans in 2023 for the privately-owned Fanatics. The acquisition will give Fanatics a bigger footprint in a competitive sports betting market, as it will gain access to at least 15 states, as well as PointsBet’s trading technology.
