Morrison Cohen Named to The National Law Journal’s 2015 Midsize Hot List
May 26, 2015 - The National Law Journal named Morrison Cohen LLP among 20 law firms from across the nation to its 2015 Midsize Hot List. The list focuses on mid-sized firms “that excel at deal making, litigation, counseling and other legal services” and “have demonstrated creative strategies that keep them competitive against much larger law firms. They build cultures that attract and retain top talent. And they take pains to understand and serve their clients' needs.”
The listing marks Morrison Cohen's inclusion for the second consecutive year.
“We are honored to be recognized again by The National Law Journal as one of the nation's best midsize law firms,” said David Scherl, the firm's Chairman and Managing Partner. “We are proud to offer our clients deep experience and senior-level attorney attention at rational billing rates. This honor validates our efforts in providing significant value to our clients in terms of both service and cost. We appreciate our continued loyal client support and welcome new clients that will benefit from our approach to legal practice.”
In its profile of the firm, the publication noted its ability to attract top talent in the hiring of Daniel McGillycuddy who adds his white-collar defense and investigations practice to the firm. Scherl commented that McGillycuddy's practice “would fit with the rest of Morrison Cohen's niches, especially in its litigation and deal work for midsize companies or larger ones looking for help with smaller transactions.”
The profile also focused on the firm's transactional practices highlighting several high profile deals in which the firm was involved in 2014.
