Morrison Cohen LLP Promotes Deborah S. Weinberg, Michael Mix, and Daniel C. Isaacs to Partners

July 9, 2021 - Morrison Cohen LLP is pleased to announce the promotion of Deborah S. Weinberg, Michael Mix, and Daniel C. Isaacs to Partners of the firm.

Effective July 1, 2021 the firm promoted three of its Senior Counsel to Partner. “These mid-year promotions were part of the firm’s commitment to the advancement of our worthy lawyers to the rank of partner,” said Steven Cooperman, Co-Managing Partner of the firm. “Each of them has shown the excellence and commitment to client service, the practice of law and business development and were recognized for exceeding the firm’s standards for promotion” added Y. David Scharf, the other Co-Managing Partner.

Deborah is a Partner in Morrison Cohen's Corporate Department. Her practice focuses on debt finance transactions representing corporate borrowers, private equity firms and their portfolio companies, commercial and investment banks, mezzanine lenders, hedge funds, and other financial sponsors in a variety of domestic and international transactions. Deborah regularly advises clients on matters involving acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, asset-based facilities, working capital facilities, mezzanine financings, and first and second lien financings, in a wide range of industries including consumer products/services, media, telecommunications, and manufacturing. She also counsels certain of her clients in lending against unique kinds of collateral, including fine art.

Michael is a Partner in Morrison Cohen’s Business Litigation Department. He concentrates his practice on the representation of clients involved in a wide variety of business disputes and is often called upon to represent clients in disputes arising from breach of contract, fraud, false advertising, defamation, and intellectual property. Michael has significant experience with all phases of litigation and arbitration, including pre-action investigation, pleadings, dispositive motions, oral argument, e-discovery, depositions, emergency applications for temporary relief, and trial. He has also negotiated complex settlement and litigation finance agreements. 

Daniel is a Partner in Morrison Cohen’s Business Litigation Department. He represents clients in a variety of commercial, business, and financial disputes, as well as regulatory investigations and enforcement actions representing and advising public and private companies, closely held business entities, and individuals in complex civil cases, including commercial, financial, securities, and cryptocurrency litigations; regulatory and internal investigations related to securities, commodities, cryptocurrency, futures, derivatives, and other structured finance products; and government enforcement actions, including those brought by the SEC, CFTC, and state agencies.
