David Saxe and Joaquin Ezcurra Examine Online Mediation of Matrimonial Matters
The Hon. David B. Saxe, (ret.) and Senior Counsel Joaquin Ezcurra examine the benefits of online mediation, particularly in matrimonial matters where the issues in divorce disputes are often personal and sensitive, in a recent article published by the New York Law Journal on October 5, 2020 entitled, “Online Mediation of Matrimonial Matters? It WORKS.”
As the COVID-19 pandemic forced courts to shut down, mediation became an alternative for resolving matrimonial matters. As courts have begun to reopen, online mediation still remains an attractive, cost-effective option allowing for engagement amongst the parties and mediator in flexible and accessible virtual forums like Zoom. Technology has reached a sufficient level of advancement as to equal or improve upon various facets of in-person mediation.
