Danielle Lesser Speaks at Art Litigation and Fashion Law Conference on Supply Chain Issues and Force Majeure
Danielle Lesser, Partner & Chair of our Business Litigation Department, spoke at the Art Litigation and Fashion Law Conference, hosted by the Federal Bar Association, in an educational panel entitled “A Discussion of Supply Chain Issues Relating to the Global Pandemic, New Laws, and Force Majeure Clauses.”
The panel, held on February 11, explored how supply chain issues have impacted the fashion industry, including broken supply lines, and what that means for labels and their consumers. Danielle spoke specifically about legal issues that fashion houses face relating to supply chain issues, including contract claims and defenses such as force majeure.
Panelists included moderator Maria Vathis, Of Counsel, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP; Lena Saltos, Associate General Counsel, Global Director of Intellectual Property, URBN (Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, Nuuly); Ben Vanpeperstraete, Sr. Legal Advisor, European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights; and Alexandra Varla, Attorney at Law, Founder, Tailored: Law & Business in the Fashion & Luxury Industry.
The conference, which took place virtually February 11-12, brought together experts in commercial transactions, employment law, international trade, and intellectual property, and was attended by attorneys and non-attorneys interested in the intersection of art, fashion, and the law.
