Danielle Lesser Appointed as a Vice Chair of New York City Bar’s Judiciary Committee
June 16, 2020 - Danielle C. Lesser, Partner and Chair of Morrison Cohen's Business Litigation Department, was recently appointed as a vice chair of the New York City Bar Association's Judiciary Committee. Danielle has been a longstanding associate member of the New York City's Bar Association and member of the Judiciary Committee.
Danielle's practice focuses on complex general commercial and real estate related litigation and arbitration. She also has extensive experience in arguing appeals, trying cases and engaging in alternate dispute resolution. Danielle's career in law began at Morrison Cohen where she started as a summer associate and now serves as Chair of the Business Litigation Department and on the firm's executive committee. Danielle, a member of the Attorney Grievance Committee of the First Department, is also active in various organizations and committees recognizing and advancing the role of women in law, including on the executive committee of the Women in the Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
This year, the New York City Bar Association celebrated its 150th year. The New York City Bar Association works with the legal community to help improve and shape public policies and judicial reforms through various committees. The Judiciary Committee evaluates candidates nominated for election and appointments to judicial offices, like states' attorneys and judges, in both the state and federal courts of New York City. The Committee is comprised of 50 attorneys.
