Tanisha L. Massie Joins Morrison Cohen
November 19, 2019 – Morrison Cohen is pleased to welcome Tanisha L. Massie as an associate in the Litigation Department. Tanisha’s vast experience in both commercial litigation and immigration law will be an asset to the firm.
Tanisha received her Juris Doctor from New York University and has a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Tanisha began her career as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP where she represented clients in connection with complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts as well as in various arbitration forums. Since then, Tanisha has represented clients in a variety of immigration matters and appeared before immigration courts, federal district courts and courts of appeals as well as the Board of Immigration Appeals. Most recently, Tanisha worked at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP where she represented a variety of institutional clients in all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through the appellate process, including representing some of the nation’s largest banks and financial institutions in connection with residential foreclosures and claims arising under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth in Lending Act and Telephone Consumer Protection Act. At Morrison Cohen, Tanisha’s practice will continue to focus on commercial litigation and dispute resolution, as well as immigration law.
Tanisha is active in various charitable endeavors, and currently sits on the board of directors of Immigration Equality, a nonprofit organization providing free legal services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-positive immigrants in need.
