David Saxe Authors Article on Traditions among Judges that Maintain the Institution of the Court

September 17, 2019 – The Hon. David B. Saxe, (ret.) authored the article “Strained Relationships Fade When Judges Break Bread,” that appeared in the New York Law Journal on August 21, 2019.

Judge Saxe discusses the Appellate Division, First Department's tradition of holding an end-of-year luncheon that coincides with the last conference of the year, at which time the judges sign off on many of the writings that may have divided them up to that point.

“Whatever unpleasantness may have arisen during our time on the court has long ago faded and been overcome by the positive feelings we have maintained for this wonderful institution and the judges who gave it life.”
