Y. David Scharf Comments on Tesla’s Reversal on Store Closings
March 15, 2019 – Morrison Cohen Partner Y. David Scharf was quoted in the article “Tesla, in Reversal, to Keep More Stores Open”, that appeared on March 11, 2019 in The Wall Street Journal. After closing 10% of its locations, Tesla rolled back plans to close stores and reopened high-visibility stores with fewer employees. Landlords and car dealers protested the store closings particularly on legal grounds.
“The negative reception from landlords must have made them rethink this strategy,” said David Scharf, a partner at the law firm Morrison Cohen LLP.
