Y. David Scharf Offers Insight on US Government’s Evolving Policies on Regulating Traditional Media with Emergence of New Technology

September 24, 2018 – Morrison Cohen Partner Y. David Scharf was extensively quoted in the article “Feds Grappling with Web's Impact on Media Landscape” that appeared in Law360 on September 12, 2018.  David comments on the Internet's impact on recent merger & acquisition cases such as AT&T / Time Warner and Sinclair / Tribune. The Department of Justice is trying to keep pace with the fast-moving market and maintain a competitive place in the changing landscape when it comes to distribution of content as traditional companies shift to new delivery methods:

"There's a new world order and we need to modernize the way we think about things from an antitrust perspective," Scharf said. "Stale views are views that become obsolete and actually undermine people's faith in the administration of the laws."
