Y. David Scharf Extensively Quoted on Approval of AT&T and Time Warner Merger and its Impact on M&A Market

June 14, 2018 – Morrison Cohen Partner Y. David Scharf was quoted across several news outlets on the approval of AT&T's $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner and its possible impact on other telecom deals.

After a six-week trial, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon allowed the merger rejecting the Department of Justice's lawsuit that the proposed merger would make the pay-TV market less competitive and less innovative, and lead to higher prices for consumers.

David predicted the ruling will influence other major telecom deals, such as Comcast Corp's offer for Twenty-First Century Fox, as the AT&T battle for Time Warner offers valuable information about how to structure a deal.

David was quoted in Reuters, TheStreet, New York Post and The Deal, and featured in a Reuter's video and on ABC News Radio and 1010 WINS News Business Report.
