Ted is Of Counsel to the Firm’s Real Estate Department, which he chaired for over ten years after joining the Firm in 1987. His practice concentrates on a variety of commercial matters including development, acquisition and disposition of properties, negotiation of commercial leases, representation of borrowers and lenders in mortgage and equity lending transactions and workouts, construction of buildings and interior facilities, and conversion of residential and commercial buildings to condominium and cooperative ownership.
A focus of Ted’s practice is representing owners and users of properties and development sites in New York City and surrounding counties including the negotiation of construction and design agreements, access agreements, and license agreements respecting construction on adjoining sites. Ted also advises purchasers and sellers of mid-and high-end condos and coops including implementing corporate ownership structures. He has represented a large airport as well as several major airlines with respect to leasing, construction, operation, and concessioning of terminals, and leasing and subleasing of gates, cargo facilities, reservation areas, and office space. In addition, for several decades, Ted has represented a number of New York City’s leading restaurants in the selection, leasing, construction, and operation of their facilities.
