Latisha Thompson is an accomplished litigator whose broad litigation practice encompasses general commercial, real estate, securities and employment litigation, among other areas. 

Latisha routinely advises CEO's and multinational companies on complex commercial and real estate transactions and other high stakes matters. Latisha is also experienced in advising and defending clients in matters involving enforcement of restrictive covenants and confidentiality provisions.
Although many of her cases have been successfully resolved for her clients on pre-trial motions, Latisha’s experience includes representing clients through trial and appeal, as well as in proceedings before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and other agencies and regulatory bodies. Latisha’s representations include public companies, multimillion-dollar private companies, hedge funds, private equity funds, investment bankers, start-ups, developers, real estate companies, information and technology companies, high-net-worth individuals and partnerships.   

Latisha is a member on the New York City Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Metropolitan Black Bar Association.

Experience

  • Represented large vitamin manufacturer in significant employment litigations arising from violations of non-competition agreements and restrictive covenants.
  • Represented one of the largest auction houses in the world in an employee raiding and breach of restrictive covenant action.
  • Represented financial institution in the successful defense of a putative class action alleging violations of the securities laws.
  • Represented large foreign manufacturer in the successful defense of a $14 million breach of warranty action.
  • Represented prominent real estate developer in an action for breach of contract. Obtained favorable settlement after successfully appealing lower court’s denial of a motion to dismiss.
  • Represented partners in a prominent fashion house in a 12-day arbitration proceeding in New York against the founding partner’s claim of a $14 million interest in the business. Obtained a favorable award expelling the founding partner for breach of a restrictive covenant.
  • Represented a Fortune 500 company in consolidated securities, ERISA and derivative actions arising out of the activities of its former officers.
  • Represented large pharmaceutical company in a securities action alleging false and misleading claims concerning a new drug.
