Court Blocks Department of Labor’s New Overtime Regulations Scheduled to Go Into Effect December 1, 2016

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas issued a nationwide preliminary injunction preventing the United States Department of Labor from implementing its new rule that was intended to tighten existing overtime regulations, which was scheduled to go into effect on December 1, 2016.  The below Client Alert reviews the regulation and the uncertainty the injunction will have on the implementation of the upgraded salary threshold in the future.
