Morrison Cohen Retained as Counsel for the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Elite Limousine Plus, Inc.

The Creditors’ Committee of Elite Limousine Plus, Inc., the largest luxury black car service in New York City, has selected Morrison Cohen LLP as its counsel.

Elite Limousine filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code on August 29, 2023, in the Eastern District of New York, as the result of the Covid Pandemic and competition from Uber and other ride-share platforms. In its filing, Elite claimed to have assets of approximately $26 million and liabilities of $30.2 million and over 400 unsecured creditors.

Several months after filing, an Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors comprised of current and former drivers for Elite was appointed by the United State Trustee. The Committee selected Morrison Cohen as its counsel because of the firm’s extensive experience in bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Morrison Cohen’s retention was approved by the Bankruptcy Court on April 29, 2024.

As counsel representing these creditors, Morrison Cohen is examining the assets, liabilities, actions and business decisions of Elite, non-debtor affiliates of Elite, and insiders and financial transactions with Elite’s lender, and fighting to ensure that creditors obtain the maximum recovery possible from the Debtors’ estates.
